Against the backdrop of the increasing development of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, the CMO Copyright association of sound engineers (OAZA) exercises on behalf of its members its right to opt-out the effects of extended collective management in accordance with §39d of the Copyright Act. With effect from May 15th 2025 the data mining of works of sound engineers by entities developing artificial intelligence tools will require prior authorisation from the CMO OAZA in order to ensure fair remuneration for the authors it represents.
